Jaw Muscle Treatment

Jaw muscle treatment is a form of massage that is designed to relieve tension and pain in the muscles of the jaw, mouth, and head.

Issues in the jaw area are often caused by teeth grinding (Bruxism), stress, or nail biting. These can lead to headaches, tension, sensations of pressure, shallow breathing and trouble swallowing.

Jaw muscle treatment is performed by a certified professional who always wears gloves during the treatment, as part of the massage is done inside the patient’s mouth. The treatment should feel comfortable and relaxing, and should cause no discomfort.

Rehabilitation of the Pelvic Floor and Abdominal Muscles

Rehabilitation of the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles is a specialized form of physiotherapy. Diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA) is a separation of the left and right sides of the outermost abdominal (stomach) muscle. This condition most often occurs in pregnancy, but also may occur in infants, older women, and men.

Pelvic pain or pelvic floor dysfunction may include symptoms such as pain and tension in the low back and pelvic area, bladder and bowel issues, and sexual dysfunction.

Physiotherapy can help manage these symptoms by educating the patient to understand the root causes, and to locate and target specific muscle groups in order to strengthen them.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a treatment method that is used for pain management. According to World Health Organization’s classification, acupuncture can be used to treat, for example, problems in the airways, diseases of the eye and mouth, problems with the digestive organs, neurological problems, musculoskeletal problems, nerve pain, bladder problems, joint inflammation and rheumatism.

Acupuncture is performed by a certified physiotherapist with training in acupuncture.

NADA Ear Acupuncture

NADA Ear Acupuncture is a unique form of traditional Chinese acupuncture. NADA involves the gentle placement of up to five small, sterilized disposable needles into specific sites on each ear.

NADA specifically targets behavioral health, including addictions and co-occurring disorders.

Benefits of NADA:

  • Increased calmness
  • Better sleep
  • Less agitation
  • Relief from stress and emotional trauma
  • Reduced cravings for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine
  • Minimized withdrawal symptoms

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain. It may look similar to acupuncture, but it is a completely different form of treatment in its methods and aims.

During dry needling, the thin, stainless steel needles are placed into “trigger points” in your muscle or tissue. The points are areas of knotted or hard muscle. Dry needling helps release the knot and relieve any muscle pain or spasms. Dry needling is performed by certified physiotherapists and massage therapists who have special training in dry needling.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is a relaxing and refreshing treatment method.

Indian head massage focuses on massaging acupressure points on the head, neck, and shoulders, often using circular massage strokes to improve the condition of the hair and scalp.

As well as being beneficial against headaches, Indian head massage is a great way to reduce sinus trouble (allergies), and even ease eye strain. Massaging around the eye and into the temples loosens the muscles around your eye sockets and can help them feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is a gentle, relaxing massage treatment designed specifically for the baby and the mother. There are two treatment lengths to choose from: 90 min for the entire body, 60 min for focusing on problem areas.

Note: All our certified massage therapists are trained to treat pregnant patients, so you are also welcome to any other treatments as well!

FysioWellness

FysioWellness is a 90-minute full-body treatment that utilizes a wide range of manual treatment methods from classical massage, fascia-release massage, joint mobilization techniques, and acupuncture.

The treatment is suitable for everyone and is particularly suitable for use when:
– there is stiffness or pain in one or more joints
– there is stiffness or pain in the spine
– you crave a relaxing pause during a stressful time

The treatment is carried out individually so that more time is spent on those areas that have more symptoms and less on those that do not have symptoms at the time of treatment.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic massage uses light, rhythmic pumping in certain directions. The purpose of lymphatic massage is to accelerate the function of the lymphatic vessels in the injured area, and to trigger lymphatic vessel cramps that are usually caused by pain.

In addition to preventing swelling, lymphatic massage is also used to treat various skin symptoms. It helps with insomnia, muscle aches, stress, migraines, preventing signs of aging and maintaining skin elasticity when losing weight.

The function of the lymphatic system, or lymphatic system, is to help maintain the correct fluid balance in the tissues and blood, defend the body against diseases, store protein, remove bacteria and cellular waste products.

Traditional Kalevala Mobilization Therapy

Kalevala Mobilization Therapy helps to correct positions and tension that have formed in the body. With the treatment, it is possible to prevent and even eliminate chronic pain conditions caused by incorrect postures. In the treatment, the whole body is treated with soft touches, opening the tensions in the body so that the natural movement of the joints and muscles can be released.

In the first treatment, a comprehensive interview and examination is carried out, in order to find out the causes affecting the problem and to get a long-lasting benefit from the treatment. If the problem has not progressed to the stage of disease (e.g. arthrosis, rheumatism, wear and tear), many pain conditions in the musculoskeletal system can be removed permanently.

The treatment is light in nature, but the effects on the body and metabolism are often strong. Due to the holistic nature of the treatment, it is recommended to avoid physical strain for two to four days after the treatment.

According to master healer Olavi Mäkelä’s instructions, the treatment should never be painful.

The treatment techniques that are used in Kalevala Mobilization Therapy come from Finnish folk healers. Olavi Mäkelä and the late Pentti Penttilä have gathered genetic information and studied modern knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. They have created a teaching method that has enabled the traditional knowledge of healing to be transferred to new experts in a course format.

Reflexology for Babies

Reflexology for babies is a gentle and effective way to relieve the most common problems in infancy (e.g., sleep problems, colic, stomach problems, regurgitation, body tension). The treatment combines relaxing massage with treatment of the areas familiar from reflexology (the soles of the feet, hands, and back).

The treatment is always performed with the parent/parents present. During the first treatment, time is also spent interviewing the parent to find out possible symptoms and their backgrounds. The treatment itself lasts for 20 minutes, but 45 minutes is reserved for the whole appointment. For best treatment results, 3-5 treatments are recommended in total.
